A 36-year-old Weymouth girl allegedly embezzled greater than $1.3 million from a Holbrook-based windshield restore firm, in accordance with Holbrook police.

On Wednesday, police arrested Ashley Sumner on a number of prices together with larceny and cash laundering, amongst others, for allegedly stealing from her former employer, Allstate Auto Glass, police mentioned in a press launch.

Holbrook police started investigating Sumner in March 2023 after Allstate informed them they suspected her of stealing $50,000, police mentioned. A months-long investigation revealed that she allegedly made a number of fraudulent bank card prices, direct deposits, and wire transfers.

Police mentioned they imagine Sumner stole greater than $1.3 million from Allstate between January 2021 and February 2023. They charged her with larceny over $1,200, cash laundering, 4 counts of identification fraud, and two counts of improper use of a bank card over $1,200.

Sumner was arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Courtroom, police mentioned. The choose set a money bail of $100,000. Sumner’s subsequent court docket date is Aug. 30.
