Police exercise in Fitchburg and a change concern outdoors North Station delayed some commuter rail passengers by as much as 45 minutes.
Passengers on two MBTA commuter rail strains noticed “vital” delays Thursday morning on account of police exercise and change and sign points, in response to the system’s operator.
Sign points on the Beverly Drawbridge — and the prepare site visitors that adopted — held up riders on the Newburyport/Rockport Line, in response to Alana Westwater, a spokesperson for Keolis, which operates the commuter rail.
On Twitter, the rail system indicated delays of as much as 25 minutes for Newburyport/Rockport commuters, warning of residual delays even after the problem was resolved round 8 a.m.
“Sign maintainers are on-site, and we count on points to be resolved this morning,” Westwater informed Boston.com in an electronic mail.
As of 11 a.m. Thursday, the MBTA’s web site listed delays of as much as quarter-hour for the Newburyport/Rockport Line.

“Each conditions have been resolved and regular service is resuming,” she stated later that morning.
