The Rhode Island Division of Environmental Administration is investigating after racist indicators have been illegally posted all through Lincoln Woods State Park, based on a tweet from the division.
One signal alleged to be from the “Rhode Island Division of Parks and Recreation.” However on Twitter, the DEM stated the “racist and hateful indicators” weren’t posted by the division or the state’s Division of Parks and Recreation.
“We strongly condemn racism and discrimination,” the state company stated.
The division’s Division of Felony Investigation is investigating the indicators as acts of legal vandalism.
“It’s significantly unhappy that vandals have focused Lincoln Woods, RI’s first state park which since 1909 has existed to afford ‘the best good for the best quantity,” the DEM stated on Twitter.
“RI’s State Parks + pure areas are for everybody to recreate + take pleasure in,” the DEM added.
The division suggested anybody with data to contact DEM regulation enforcement at (401) 222-3070.
