A Quincy center college pupil who introduced an unloaded gun to highschool Tuesday and confirmed it to a number of college students “won’t return” to the varsity, officers stated.
The scholar was a seventh grader at Central Center College, and the handgun the coed introduced belonged to their father or mother, Quincy police confirmed Wednesday. Police later seized the gun from the coed’s residence.
Quincy Public Colleges Superintendent Kevin Mulvey addressed the incident in a letter to oldsters, The Boston Globe reported.
“I’m shocked and saddened that this pupil’s harmful actions jeopardized their very own well being and well-being and people of their classmates and college employees,” Mulvey reportedly wrote. “The scholar will face critical disciplinary penalties for his or her motion and won’t return to Central Center College.”
It’s unclear whether or not the coed is completely banned from the varsity.
The gun was “unsecured” within the pupil’s residence, WHDH reported Mulvey saying within the letter. The scholar introduced the gun to highschool after which reportedly confirmed it to a number of college students outdoors the varsity after dismissal.
“Our message to oldsters is please, please discuss to your college students about gun security,” Mulvey reportedly wrote within the letter. “Whether or not that’s an actual gun or a pretend gun, please don’t be bringing weapons to highschool.”
