Nurse stabbed at Heywood Hospital in Gardner; N.H. man charged with tried homicide

The incident occurred in Heywood Hospital’s emergency division, police stated.

A nurse at a Gardner hospital was stabbed within the emergency division Monday, in keeping with police.

Officers responded to Heywood Hospital at about 8 p.m. for a report of a stabbing within the emergency division, Gardner Police stated in an announcement.

Police didn’t determine the sufferer past the truth that they’re a member of Heywood’s nursing employees. The sufferer was delivered to UMass Memorial Medical Middle for therapy.

David Nichols, 76, of Greenville, N.H. was arrested on the scene. He was charged with tried homicide and assault and battery with a harmful weapon.

Nichols was held on $10,000 money bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Gardner District Court docket.
