Ski resorts throughout New England quickly closed down this week after a robust wind and rain storm tore by way of the area on Monday, uprooting timber, knocking out energy, and washing away roads.

Some ski locations, corresponding to Bretton Woods in Carroll, N.H. and Smugglers’ Notch in Jeffersonville, Vt., reopened on Wednesday. Different ski resorts say they may reopen later within the week.
