Although Alex Verdugo was rumored to be in commerce negotiations, the 27-year-old is blissful that he stayed put.
The Pink Sox in the end determined towards parting with Verdugo previous to Tuesday’s MLB commerce deadline. Afterward, Verdugo sounded off on remaining along with his present crew.
“I really like Boston,” he told WEEI on Tuesday. “It’s a kind of issues. I need to keep right here. I’ve been form of chirping at them for years, ‘Prolong me! Prolong me!’”
Verdugo, who homered in Tuesday’s win over the Mariners, has been with the Pink Sox since arriving in 2020 as a part of the Mookie Betts commerce with the Dodgers. His contract runs by way of the 2024 season, although there haven’t been “severe” talks about an extension so far, in response to Verdugo.

In the long run, Pink Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom opted for only a minor commerce (including infielder Luis Urias from the Brewers). Bloom known as his crew “underdogs” heading into the latter stage of the common season.
At 57-50, the Pink Sox path the Blue Jays by 1.5 video games for the ultimate wild-card spot. Boston and Toronto start a three-game collection on Friday.
