A Dorchester man was arrested Monday and charged with stabbing one other man to dying inside a transitional housing facility for homeless veterans.
Eduardo Bonilla, 43, was charged with homicide. He shall be arraigned within the Roxbury Division of Boston Municipal Courtroom on Tuesday, Boston police stated in an announcement.
Officers responded to six Hartford St. in Dorchester at about 12:06 p.m. Monday for a report of an individual stabbed inside, police stated. There, they discovered a person with stab wounds who was pronounced lifeless on the scene. Officers didn’t launch the id of the sufferer.
The handle is the placement of the Hartford Avenue Home, operated by the Pine Avenue Inn. The nonprofit works to assist homeless individuals in and round Boston by providing avenue outreach, emergency providers, supportive housing, job coaching, and extra.
The Hartford Avenue Home opened in 2011. It will probably host 16 veterans, lots of which “have been unable to achieve different settings,” in accordance with the Pine Avenue Inn. Every tenant has a person room, and tenants share kitchens, loos, and residing areas.
The group stated it was conscious of the incident in an announcement to The Boston Globe Monday. The Pine Avenue Inn didn’t supply extra data, citing the continued police investigation.
