NEW YORK (AP) — Yankees pitcher Jimmy Cordero was suspended for the remainder of the season by baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred on Wednesday for violating the game’s home violence coverage.

MLB mentioned the 31-year-old right-hander accepted the suspension and can miss the season’s closing 76 video games and the postseason.

Cordero was 3-2 with a 3.86 ERA in a single begin and 30 aid appearances and has a $720,000 wage, the key league minimal. He missed the 2021 season after Tommy John surgical procedure whereas with the Chicago White Sox group and spent 2022 with the Yankees’ Triple-A workforce at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
