VERNON, Vt. (AP) — An Amtrak passenger practice crashed into an SUV in southeastern Vermont, killing the SUV’s driver and injuring his passenger, authorities mentioned.
The state police mentioned 53-year-old Craig Hudson, of Brattleboro, died within the crash Friday in Vernon, a city of about 2,000 people who borders New Hampshire and Massachusetts. His passenger, 47-year-old Shenandoah Gilbert, of Vernon, was being handled for accidents at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Middle in New Hampshire.
Nobody was damage on the practice, which continued its route after a delay, authorities mentioned.
Amtrak mentioned there have been 215 passengers on board practice 56, which was touring from Washington, D.C., to St. Albans, Vermont.

A state police reconstruction staff is investigating the crash, with distant help from Amtrak police.
