The publication launched an inventory of 55 of the most effective fall cities within the U.S. for foliage, calling them “probably the most beautiful spots in America for leaf peeping.”
The next 15 New England locations made the checklist:
- Massachusetts: Pioneer Valley and Lenox
- New Hampshire: Jefferson and Sugar Hill
- Maine: Camden, Kennebunkport, and Bar Harbor
- Rhode Island: Bristol and Charlestown
- Connecticut: Kent and Mystic
- Vermont: Montpelier, Stowe, Manchester, and Woodstock
Mount Sugarloaf is a superb place to see beautiful colours in Massachusetts’ Pioneer Valley, in line with the publication, and Lenox boasts loads of climbing and biking paths for “final mountain leaf peeping.”
New Hampshire’s Jefferson has “spectacular surroundings and vibrant colours,” and Sugar Hill is known as for its abundance of sugar maples, the publication wrote.
In Maine’s Camden, leaf peepers can get pleasure from shade “the place the mountains meet the ocean,” and Kennebunkport’s “quaint” retailers and inns make it the proper place for a fall getaway, wrote Nation Dwelling. In the meantime, Bar Harbor, the gateway to Acadia Nationwide Park, is “charming in its personal proper, with colourful storefronts lining Essential Avenue.”
